Hamilton Township Fire District No. 2 is one of nine fire districts that provide emergency fire protection to the township. It is governed by five elected officials (commissioners) that employ 18 career firefighters. The district is partnered with the Mercerville Fire Company which provides a manpower pool of over 25 volunteers.
All career staff are trained as Emergency Medical Technicians (or higher) and provide medical assistance in addition to emergency fire protection to the community. The career staff are also New Jersey licensed Fire Inspectors (or higher) and inspect over seven hundred businesses within the district annually.
